Successful Affiliate Marketing Example (aka how I win contests)

Every once in a while I find myself on an affiliate leaderboard for a product I’ve been promoting. Most of the time it’s a surprise. For example a couple of years ago or so I won $300 as an affiliate for Coach Glue. Initially, I didn’t even realize they were having an affiliate contest but when I found out I was in the running to win something, I got motivated and gave it a go.

That’s what’s so awesome about affiliate contests and getting on an affiliate leaderboard. It’s motivating. It’s fun. It’s exciting! Of couse that’s a win-win for all involved.

If you’re not familiar with an Affiliate Leaderboard here’s the deal:

Every so often a product owner will hold an affiliate contest. During a set timeline the product owner will offer prizes (cash or other) to top and sometimes random affiliates as a reward for promoting their products and earning sales.

I’m an affiliate for quite a large number of products and programs. Most of the time I just promote programs as it seems to fit with what I’m teaching or talking about at the moment. I don’t pay a lot of attention to launch schedules or big JVZoo events, etc. I’m more concerned about getting the right information to the right peeps at the right time.

One of my favorite “surprise, you’re on the leaderboard!” stories is when I was friended by the owner of eCover Authority, Chad Ejisr. I had seen my friend promote this product and had meant to go check it out. I knew it was something that would be a PERFECT fit to share with my readers and so as soon as I saw the link to Chad’s affiliate contest I knew I wanted to promote it. I signed up as an affiliate right away and the next day started promoting as soon as the little baby girl was napping. I wrote this in September of 2015 when I started promoting but it’s still VERY valid today!

Here’s my day one results:

On day one of this particular promotion I found out that I was at the top of the leaderboard. With a $3000 cash prize up for grabs for the top affiliate I was pretty surprised to hear I was leading!

I have to tell ya I’m not really a competitive type person but being told you’re in the lead to win such a large prize gives you motivation to keep it up!

And keep it up I did. As of day four (yesterday) I had slipped to the #2 spot (which is still a $1000 prize):

Here’s where I’m going to list out the whole process of what I’ve done to this point to attempt to hold that top spot. As of writing this (Tuesday night) the contest is still running so what I’ll do is come back after publishing and update you with the (hopefully great) news of how it all panned out.

The first thing I did on Friday was email my list. Here’s email one:

After I sent this one I got a question about the time zone so I quickly fixed up another email to clarify, which was basically the same as the one above with the time zone of the initial sale added.

Now at 1pm I sent out another email. In my rush to promote this program on launch day I misunderstood that the price was going up in increments to $37, not all at once at 2pm like I thought. So I created a bigger ‘urgency’ than was actually there… and it worked. Obviously I don’t recommend creating any kind of fake urgency as that would be very unethical (like I said mine was an absolute accident) but what you CAN do is definitely take advantage of any REAL urgency built-in to any product sales.

Here’s the email I sent a 1pm:

You’ll notice this email is almost exactly the same just with a different subject and a little of the first wording edited.

The next thing I did was create a post on my facebook page and I shared it in my group (now Laptop Lifestyle Business Club):

In my original posts I had told people I’d give them a free Look ‘Over My Shoulder’ workshop just for signing up for eCover Authority. I had no details other than that yet and hadn’t even picked a date. I didn’t have anything set up for it so I got to work setting up some details and picking a date.

I created a page on my site to give people the details on the workshop and to invite them to buy eCover Authority.

So I’m not going to list out EVERY single move I make because that could take a full report (you’d be better off to get on my email list to see what I do over the next few days). Here’s a screenshot of the emails I’ve sent since:

My email ‘Who Should buy eCover Authority (and Why)’ got great results and some more sales.

I also turned that into a blog post here that I shared on social media. When I create a blog post I always click on the social media share links on the post (feel free to click them on this post or any you like, too! 🙂  ):

After my promo email yesterday I also sent out a second email (later in the evening) about a telesummit I had participated in that people could sign up for free to listen to. Inside that one I made another mention of the program but didn’t link to it (I’m thinking I probably should have for better results):

So that brings us up to Tuesday, August 25th.

I set up two facebook ads on Monday and on Tuesday I added another.

Here are the ads:

In total for those three ads I spent $30.13 and they made me nada. nothing. I’m not overly surprised as I honestly have NO CLUE what I’m doing with facebook ads but I figured I’d give it a shot since each sale had the potential to help me win, even if I spent $16 to get the sale it could have been worth it since the commission on each was between $13.50 and $18.50.

Also I created a video review of the software and how I create the eCovers:

Finally today I also added a ‘Foobar’ to the bottom of my screen:

The point of the banner across the bottom of the site is to capture the attention of any blog post readers. That way I can also promote my unrelated content (because I’m sure people are getting a little tired of hearing about eCovers) and STILL get them in front of my offer for a free workshop bonus when they buy eCover Authority.

From Tuesday on I didn’t push my list too much harder. I figured most people who were going to buy up to that point had bought. I did know, though, that doing a final last-minute push is important because people often do want to buy but also will wait until the very last chance to do so.

So I sent out a few emails from Wednesday to Friday night when the contest ended:

I was kinda surprised my email to a blog post about ‘how to get your Mojo back’ got so many clicks. That one had a reminder about the software and a link to the post. My email with a free graphics download didn’t surprise me with the clicks, because my list loves free downloads when I send them (and I like to do that often to give ’em lots of value)!

On the final day I ended up getting another $171 in commissions.. not bad at all.

On Saturday I found out how I place in the Affiliate Contest:

Seriously. Thrilled.

I was so happy to be in that position after participating in a contest I didn’t even know about the day before. I literally found out about it only 10 hours before it started!

The implications of this kind of success have really had me thinking hard on my direction and where I want to lead my business efforts in the future. I don’t know if you know this but I actually started Marketer’s Mojo back in 2008 in an attempt to be a full-time affiliate marketer. That attempt DID NOT work out as planned and so I got into group coaching – now the Laptop Lifestyle Business Club. These days I still love my coaching clients but I am going to be putting some serious effort into affiliate marketing again. It is by far the most passive way to I’ve found to earn income.

Even though I put in a hard week of work promoting… I’m done. I don’t need to maintain a product, I didn’t have to create a product, I don’t need to provide customer support and I don’t have to worry about training on that product. It’s all done by the product creator. Leaving me to go promote the next awesome business product.

The final result of my week’s worth of hard work?

$1064.76 in commissions
$750 in prize money

A new-found appreciation that my list LOVES stuff related to creating graphics for their business!

Update: January 2017 – In 2016 Chad decide to do another sale and run another affiliate contest. I was still keeping busy with my darling girl and instead of re-creating all the promotional content for eCover Authority I REUSED almost everything! I reused the emails I had sent, the video, I set up a replay of the training webinar and I of course reused the ads and graphics I had created. For very little time spent I ended up taking the #4 spot on the leaderboard and winning $200 on top of $612.19 in commissions!

p.s. I hope you’ve found this post helpful, interesting and motivational! If you did would you be a super-awesome doll and share it or comment or both?! Hugs! 🙂

Blogging it out…

Like many entrepreneurs, I have a busy mind. A VERY busy mind.

I get excited about a lot of things in business and I could talk about it all freaking day long.

BUT… random talking does not a business make so I have to “quiet my mind” and get to work at times. I work things out by writing them out. When I can get the things in my head out into a typewritten font they suddenly seem a LOT clearer and I can make sense of it.

This works so well that when I’m emailing my coach asking her for advice and help I often end up working through my own issue within the very email, lol!

It’s one of the reasons I think I’ve always been so DRAWN to blogging. I’ve had this secret desire to be a great blogger, all these years. I have friends who blog every single day and make a great living doing it. I never seemed to really give myself permission to fully go for it with blogging.

About a year or two ago I started blogging almost daily. It came about because someone asked me what I WISHED I was doing more of and my answer had been “blogging”. She said “well why don’t you blog more”. I had absolutely no answer to that and no reason not to blog so I started doing it more.

Lately, though, I’ve slacked off again and I don’t like it! Not one bit!

So… I’m back at it. Blogging away.

Blogging it out.

If you’ve ever seen Grey’s Anatomy you’ll know that they “dance it out”. Well this is the internet marketing version. We’re going to “blog it out”.

Now I’m not saying blogging should be random, or pointless. Nope. You should always have a point, a goal, an objective. But I do think blogging can be therapeutic, creative, inventive, useful and a great peek into the real personality and mind of the blogger. I love that. I love that the bloggers I’ve read over the years have bared their souls and shared their minds with me in a way you can’t really get

I love that the bloggers I’ve read over the years have bared their souls and shared their minds with me in a way you can’t really get even from person to person conversations unless it’s someone really close and you spend a lot of time with them.

Blogging… it’s a way to REALLY connect.

To think of the things I’ve bought from bloggers it’s a lot. It’s because the connection and the trust you get from consistently creating content that shows who you are is kinda hard to beat, even with a Facebook Live 😉

Now I love LOTS of marketing methods. I’m not going to suddenly shun the others. But this post is here to tell you I’ll be from now forward “blogging it out” and I want to know if you’d like to join me?

Say yes and and let’s go deep diving into this blogging thing by doing my October Challenge together in the club.

I’m aptly naming my October Challenge the Blogging It Out Challenge and I will be excited to share with you a daily blog-prompt to get you growing your business and blogging great content for your peeps.

My challenges are 10-days long. That’s long enough to make a great impact but short enough that you can get them DONE.

I don’t even have the salespage ready but it will be up soon. I’ll link to it in the challenge section of this page in the next few days. In the meantime, as always, if you join the group before the end of the month you’re going to get in on this month’s challenge and then when the new month arrives you’ll ALSO get that one… so you’ll end up with two challenges before you have to make your second membership payment. Heck of a deal if you ask me!

Can’t wait to connect with you more through this blog and anywhere you find me.

So tell me… will you be “Blogging It Out”?

You Think Selling Online is Hard? This was harder…

When my son was a few years old I was desperately searching for a way to work from home so I could be a combo stay at home/work at home mom.

I bought RESP’s for Hayden as my mom had done for me as a baby and the lady who sold them to me told me about the business side of it and how you could make really good money.

So I signed up to sell them. And it was one of the worst “selling” experiences ever. The way you made sales was to go to fairs and shows where kids would be, make free animal balloons for the kids and talk the parents into a signing up for a free draw.

The parents that signed up you later had to CALL on the phone to talk them into an in-person meeting in their home. Then I had to SHOW UP at their door, with my whole talk about why they should buy our RESP package and sell them.

Face to face at their kitchen table. That’s how badly I wanted my own business and income.

Picture yourself doing that for a minute? Would you? Would you want to create your own income (ie. no boss) badly enough to do that?

Good news is now you don’t have to, though. Back then I don’t even think there was Facebook, or it was just getting started with Zuckerburg and his friends.

Last year I got invited to a Facebook party via private message for Jamberry. I thought it was interesting as I’d never been to one. And so I went. It was so cool! Fun games, interaction and a cool product. Of course as someone who’s tried MANY businesses since that RESP one I was watching how it was run from a business perspective, too.

So then this year I came across LipSense. I hadn’t worn lipstick in about 10 years or more. I didn’t really care to wear lipstick (or so I thought) but I became fascinated with the idea that it does not come off.

A few months later I’ve easily sold four figures worth of lipstick and have a team of three people and growing.

There was no standing in a booth, making sales calls or doing in-person sales presentations. Just a strategic Facebook party of posting and having fun.

While I’d never, ever want to do that whole business model EVER again I think it’s pretty awesome to have the kind of perspective I have. Calling someone up and convincing them to meet in person is not easy, and it doesn’t FEEL GOOD to do.  I’m so very passionate about helping people start a business…. be it in SeneGence (the LipSense company) or as a solopreneur (people who I support in my business club).

I’ve been working at home for 10 years now… a real livable, income (not just extra income) and I did it because I tried things, was willing to do what it took and I never stopped looking for the right thing for me.

If you’re desperately seeking a way to stay at home with your kids and you’re willing to do what it takes I can tell you without a doubt it’s so much more fun and easier to find a match with the internet than it was when I got started. And it’s so very possible.

Of course… I’d love to tell you about how to start a business with SeneGence if you’re interested, too. No animal balloon making skills required! 😉

p.s. If this message has inspired you and motivated you to be READY to sell or up your online sales game then we should talk! Hit reply on this email and tell me how we should proceed: Laptop Lifestyle Business Club or SeneGence (LipSense) Team Member info! I’m super passionate about both and I’d love to have a personal chat with you about either if you’re curious and/or interested. Talk soon. MWAH!

Why Network Marketing Gets a Bad Rap & How I Changed My Mind

Years and years ago a friend of a friend invited me over to her house. It seemed odd because I never just get invites like that. She was insistent that I bring my fiance (at the time) and was very persistent about firming up the meeting.
I didn’t know. I thought maybe they were just looking for couple friends…
Well, we sat there chatting a little bit at their kitchen table. There were questions about things like “your dream car”, “where would you live if you could live anywhere” and “where in the world would you love to go”…. all very different.
Then… out came paper, notes and suddenly they were telling us about their “opportunity”. How we could just buy household stuff we buy anyway, tell other people about this amazing opportunity and get all those things we had just told them we wanted.
It was super sneaky.
It felt very tacky.
I could not get out of their house FAST ENOUGH.
It certainly left a BAD, BAD impression of the company they worked for (I’ll let you guess, it starts with “Am”) and the process of “recruiting” as I’d seen it.
Sure I’d been to the home parties and they were bad enough because I had felt obligated to go and buy stuff I maybe didn’t want or need. I didn’t love them but I understood when I decided to go the process was so there was no bitterness over it.
But this was a whole new level of pressure sales. I could see how many people would feel far too uncomfortable to say no, not right now. We just said ok we’re going to go home and think/talk about it and will let you know.
From then on I made it a policy… I was NOT buying from “those companies”. I was NOT going to be pressured or ambushed or made to feel like I had to buy out of obligation.
Yuck. Yucky, yucky way to sell.
It wasn’t until a good few years later… when I found out you could do network marketing on the internet and ATTRACT customers and team members to you, that I took another look at the industry with an open mind.
You have a ready-made product!
You have an entire arsenal of marketing materials!
You have an experienced, established company behind you!
You have a team of “sisters” to learn and grow with!
You have regular conferences for development and growth!
You have massive leverage when you grow a team!
You have bonuses and trips that can be earned!
Wow… was I impressed.
With the business side, yes, but with the thought that I could do this in a very ethical, honest and non-pressure way. I would NEVER want to ambush people for any amount of money, like was done to my ex and I… it was just not cool.
So I’ve been on and off with a few network marketing companies over the years. Products I fell in love with and companies I wanted to check out. I wasn’t really shopping for them because I do have the Laptop Lifestyle Business Club, after all, where I love helping people create total lifestyle freedom.
But I’ve always had a heart for network marketing (aka direct sales or MLM) after I opened it up to the possibility with that first company back around 2005…
And this year I found “the one”.
The company with a product that LIT ME UP.
The company with a sisterhood that is like NOTHING ELSE.
The company with a history that is very IMPRESSIVE & INSPIRED.
The company with a “wow product” that gets repeat sales LIKE I’VE NOT SEEN IN MY 15 YEARS IN BUSINESS!
The company is SeneGence and the product I fell in love with is LipSense. YES… that lip colour you’ve seen all your friends posting about.
Never in a million years did I think I’d be a lipstick or makeup distributor.
I realized today that the most I’ve EVER spent on foundation is about $20. I’ll be fixing that when I use my party profits to buy myself the line of face makeup to create a flawless look I believe I can achieve even with my scarred and damaged skin.
Yep… because I had the deep seeded filter that makeup is “self indulgent” and “conceited”…. Oh goodness how wrong I was!
I now see makeup as a way to enjoy self-care and revel in taking good care of me! I see it like I’d see someone decorating their home and adding colour to it. Like someone would see picking out great clothes to look good in. Nothing wrong with it all, of course!
But me, selling lipstick? Still kinda can’t believe it but as I said I LOVE the product, LOVE the company and LOVE the SeneSisterhood!
I’m super passionate about this and I’m looking to build a team of equally passionate people.
Sure I could ask you your dream car, where you want to take exotic vacations and how big you want your home to be but all I’m going to say is this industry is a REAL BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY and it has many advantages over starting from scratch all on your own.
I’m VERY PROUD to be a network marketer and I’d be happy to share the product and the opportunity with you so you can see what an amazing way of business it is as well.
Just hit me up and we’ll talk. Comment, fill in my contact form here or email me at, whatever works!

Case Study: Building an Internet Marketing Sales Funnel

Back in May I had my 10 Year “Quitaversary” celebration. To celebrate ten years of working entirely for myself in online marketing I held a

To celebrate ten years of working entirely for myself in online marketing I held a telesummit. I invited some of my best friends to share their best tips on internet marketing and building an online business. We celebrated the Laptop Lifestyle that is the cornerstone of all I do in my business.

At the same time I was celebrating, I also set up my first real website sales funnel.

What is a sales funnel?

To put it simply it is an entry point into your email list, via an opt-in form for a free offer or a webinar, that leads to an entry point paid offer. The better the flow from the free offer to the paid, the more likely you are to make sales.

I knew I wanted to celebrate this ten years of lifestyle business freedom and I wanted to invite others to join me in the Laptop Lifestyle Business Club.

  • I started with the Laptop Lifestyle Business Club. It’s $37/month to sign up to my club and I know people need to know me and the value I offer in the club before they’re willing to make that investment, so I needed an “intro” before I made that offer.
  • I decided a small 7 Step Action Plan to Creating a Laptop Lifestyle. It’s only $7 and I thought it would be a great thing to offer those who attended the telesummit and wanted to continue on with me.
  • Then of course there was the Because Life Can’t Wait Telesummit. It was a perfect intro with not just me, with many awesome people making REAL MONEY online and who are well established (many of these ladies over 10 years in online business)!

So those were my three offers. Then of course I had follow-up emails after people joined in the telesummit, telling them about the telesummit itself and then offering them the 7 Step Action Plan.

Have a peek at the whole process…

Here’s the telesummit sign up page. It’s basically a webinar setup with a sign up to join, just there were more webinars to attend:

This is the thank you page after people registered for the telesummit.

You can see they are offered the action plan right on the thank you page:

After people confirm their email they see an invite to join my group, which is actually where I hosted the sessions on Facebook Live:

Then, they’d get a series of email messages about the event and following up about the action plan:

Now you might be wondering where I offered the membership. How did I get new members? Well I only offered the membership to those who bought the action plan and then actually went it to download it! Those were the most pre-qualified people. I offered a discount to the first month of membership right on the download page in the members area:

The result?

My first funnel was a great success! It worked!

I was soooo pumped and excited to do more. But you know what happened? Life. Business.

I haven’t created another one since May and that just won’t do!

Now you might be thinking… “Well that’s great Angela, but I don’t know where to start! I don’t know what tools to use, how to set one up, how it would go together…”

Well if you want to know how to set up your own webinar funnel I am excited to tell you that my friend Cindy Bidar, who is a VERY SMART lady and an Online Business Manager, has created a program to walk you through the entire process, step by step. Here’s a look at HER program… just look at how she’s laid it all out for you. She’s taking you easily through the key sales funnel stages:

As you can see it’s beautifully laid out and that is going to make it EASY for you to log in, see what you need, get that training and get your funnel DONE.

I interviewed Cindy about her program, you can see the interview here.

If you are super pumped about creating funnels to attract more leads and customers, GO HERE and BUY CINDY’S PROGRAM.

If you’re tired of chasing people down and want to ATTRACT people to you, it’s time to start building funnels.
If you want to LEVERAGE your time and get more results from the same effort, it’s time to start building funnels.
If you’re ready for your IDEAL clients to find you because they consume your stuff, it’s time to start building funnels.

How to Make Money Working from Home, Fast

Here’s my problem with goals.

You set your goal and make it for “in the future”.

You start working on the now stuff…

  • Setting up your website.
  • Getting your brand just right.
  • Creating emails to load into your automated system.
  • Posting randomly on social media to build your “audience”.

All in the name of that FUTURE goal.

Now do not get me wrong here. GOALS are awesome, necessary and done by far too little of the business population.

But you know what’s even rarer than goals in the online business market?

Pursued DAILY action towards income.

I’m talking about daily tasks that make you money. Not a once a week offer. Not a once a day offer. Setting a large portion of your day to doing things you know will DIRECTLY make you money.

These kinds of tasks include:

  • Emailing a potential client to say “hey I thought this would be perfect for YOU” (because you’ve been paying attention and it WOULD be perfect for them).
  • Sending an email to your list with an offer they’ll love and a call to action that clearly states in some form to “buy this now”.
  • Connecting with someone of influence and asking them to send a message to their people about YOU and what you have to offer (they may not do it that day, but if they do it you’ll earn income if picked correctly).

No you can’t just….

  • wow people with your blog content and wait for them to ask what you sell
  • write inspiring emails with no call to action and expect people to give you money
  • build a massive facebook group while never making a single offer and expecting the money will eventually show up

It just won’t work that way!

You know what stalls most people? They think they have to have EVERYTHING in this mystical, magical, elusive order before they can sell anything.

If they don’t have an email list, they think they need that FIRST.
If they don’t have a website, they think that needs to be DONE.
If they don’t have a shopping cart, they think they can’t possibly sell YET.
If they don’t have a massive following, they think they’re not READY.

All LIES. Lies you tell yourself!

Here is the absolute bare minimum you need to sell online, fast, TODAY:

An offer and a PayPal link.

Here’s the step by step to do it:

  1. Think of an offer.
  2. Set up a PayPal link.
  3. Bonus Step: Tell someone to buy it!

Seriously it can be THAT easy. Don’t make it overly complicated. Don’t confuse yourself. Add the bells and the whistles LATER… after you feel confident that you CAN sell.

Are we clear here?

No more doing “stuff” every day just because someone told you to!
No more waiting for people to realize how awesome you are, tell them!
No more expecting people will find your site, get excited about your blah salespage and give you money!

NO, NO, No, NO, No More of that!

It’s time for YOU to be your own superhero.

Step up and get creative.

Nobody is going to give you the roadmap but the how is right here:

Sell. Sell Today. Sell Now. Sell always…

And that doesn’t make you greedy. It doesn’t make you rude. It doesn’t make you selfish.

It makes you a business owner with value to give and an important message to spread!
It makes you someone who’s ready to SERVE, to HELP, to PROVIDE.

I think back to how this all started… to BEFORE there was MONEY to make people weird about it.

People TRADED.

I made a great pelt to keep you warm… you made a nice bow my hubby could hunt with… and so we both had something of value and we TRADED. No hard feelings. No one thinks you’re a scammer.

Point: You have value (a product or service). They have value (money). You make a fair trade and EVERYONE is happy!

Hey… it’s your business. Do what you want for reals. BUT if you want profit… if you want to grow… if you want to serve… take my advice:

Sell and don’t feel one bit bad about it.

Think about this:

A tiny fraction of people actually set goals. A smaller fraction actually WRITE THEM DOWN.

This is why people need help with goals.

It’s not because they can’t figure it out themselves… it’s because they don’t make the time.

That’s why my friends at Piggy Makes Bank created this Setting & Reaching Goals content you can use on your blog, in your emails, on social media and MORE to help your people reach their goals!

If you’ve been reading my emails for any amount of time you’ll know I’m all about helping people reach their goals. They wanna to go to freakin SPACE CAMP!

OK, it’s not too often I have THIS GOOD a reason to buy something.

I am about to grab this AWESOME social graphics package and it’s helping send two pretty freakin cool teenagers to Space Camp!

How do I know they’re cool? Well… they wanna go to space camp of course! lol. I remember LOVING the movie of the same name when I was young and wonder “is there REALLY a space camp?”.

Well apparently there is!

I don’t know if I’m overly emotional because I’ve been struck with a bad cold (maybe flu) for the past five days or if it’s because I ALSO have a teen son but when I read that these two boys are working their way to earn their way into this camp I’ll admit it had me tearing up just a teeny bit… Of course I LOVE hearing about teens working online!

But enough about space camp cause I am literally geeking out too much on this… let’s talk about the super-quality graphics package these teens and mom Chele Neisler team have put together, along with my friend and coach Kelly McCausey…

The package contains 30 Encouraging Graphics for Business Owners:

The motivational sayings are spot on!
They come with PLR rights!
They are uniquely created to fit on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Linked In and a Powerpoint Slide.
The powerpoint version is perfect for the back of a business card.

So what do you do with these images?

  • Motivate and encourage your clients for months on end…
  • Add them to your blog posts…
  • Pop them into relevant emails…
  • Push them straight to social media with inspiring content…
  • Keep them going by using them as headers on your social channels…

And WHOA… what if you want to automatically share the CORRECT image size for each social media site, automatically? Don’t know how? There is a bonus personal use tutorial included to show you exactly how to do that! Well that in itself is worth the price so you can transfer that skill to ALL your graphics sharing for your content!

You’ll also get a graphics tracking sheet to keep track of exactly where you’ve shared, and when is a good time to do it again!…. (because you don’t use ANYTHING just once and throw it away, RIGHT?)

It just goes on and on here. I’m sooo excited about the holiday graphics they’ve added. WHAT.. holidays? It’s August… Yea and we all know September and October FLY so you’ll be ready with these BEEE-U-TiFUL holiday graphics.

I grabbed a partial screenshot of them:

See the rest on the order page here.

As I said I just love seeing a partnership like this and I’m so happy to support it. But even more than that this package is just PACKED and the quality is crazy. The price is only $19 for now, it’s set to $29 regular.

p.s. So my topic of the month of August in the Laptop Lifestyle Business Club just happens to be Business Graphics BOOST! So perfectly matched is this challenge package! Planning a Successful Business Photoshoot

For most people, stepping in front of the camera to do a business photo shoot is NOT the most comfy thing in the world, at all. You’ve likely been avoiding it until… (you get smaller, your skin looks better, your hairdresser gets it right, etc, etc). Trust me, I get it! I was waiting, too. You’ve likely been avoiding it until… (you get smaller, your skin looks better, your hairdresser gets it right, etc, etc).

Trust me, I get it! I was waiting, too. Then I said to hell with it and went for a photoshoot. I’ll admit, the first one was really uncomforable but the pics turned out GOOD. The second was PERFECT. And when I say perfect not as in I looked perfect. I mean it presented ME and MY business in a way that perfectly represented my brand, my message and ultimately… my purpose for being in business.

I’ve got some hella tips and techniques to share with you in this post to make you go from feeling frumpy and completely out of place (how I feel in shoot one) to heading to your photoshoot feeling like a “Supa-Star!”

So let’s get to it:

Tip #1: Know how to get your message across (and involve your photographer).

In my first photoshoot I DID know my message but I didn’t know how to really tell it to people in photos. Also I didn’t know how to explain it to my photographer. She did SUCH a great job of those photos and I had a couple that I used for quite a while but I knew we could do better, much better.

Session two we KILLED it in getting the message across. See:

Now I have to give tons of credit to my TWO photographers Cathy Kirshner (of Cathy Kirshner Photography) and Jodie Cerovich for the amazing job they do! We took my message of the Laptop Lifestyle and business freedom and made it happen in pics. I LOVE these pics!

But now, I look like this:

So I figured it’s time to get some fresh photos which we are doing TODAY! I’ll have to update this post when we do and will likely have more tips.

Tip #2: Plan out specific poses.

My first photoshoot I was completely unprepared for what I wanted and we quickly looked up poses on our phones and went for it. The second photoshoot I knew different poses I wanted to happen and I had them written out. For this third one coming my photographers “get me” so well that they also looked up poses, scoured the area for places we can use and they understand both businesses I’m going to be promoting (one is the Laptop Lifestyle and the other is my LipSense Biz)

Tip #3: Bring Props and Plan For Different Outfits

I’m bringing Camera, Tablet, Laptop, Cell Phone (of course), my LipSense (of course).

I also have an AWESOME tank top (think… SHINY) that I will layer under an awesome shirt (because I don’t think there is anywhere to change. Then I’m bringing two cardigans AND a jean jacket. If I had multiple footwear I’d probably bring a change of shoes, too. I’m not much of a shoe shopper because of my giant size 11 feet it’s too hard, lol.

Also of course you can change jewelry, too.

Makeup even. Here’s a COOL TIP you can do if you have LipSense. I’m going to wear a light colour for a few photos and I’ll have two layers of that one. THEN, when I’m done with the lighter colour what I’ll do is layer a dark colour over that for entirely different look!

Tip #4: Just do it and BE CONFIDENT!

Confidence is a mindset. I am not and was not where I want to be shapewise for any of my photoshoots but from shoot one to shoot two the difference in confidence is massively clear! Now I’m coming into shoot three with even more confidence and I know that can’t be a bad thing. 😉

The whole reason to do this isn’t to be a MODEL for your business. NO… it’s to showcase YOU as a leader, as a person who wants to serve, as a business owner who trusts her market enough to let them SEE HER and in turn create huge trust with your audience.

I could go on and on about photoshoot. If you have any questions post them below or on social media. I consider them a pretty important part of my business because they present me and make me feel proud AND they give me a confidence boost as well so I can continue to put myself out there in bigger and better ways.

p.s. Our business challenge in August is going to be Business Graphics BOOST and there WILL be a small part of the challenge focused on getting some photos of YOU for your business. Now it doesn’t have to be a full-out photoshoot and it can literally be a selfie but I don’t want to see anymore pics of ducks or dogs or cartoons as your profile pics, ok? 😉 (<<< said with love and concern for your market trust). Join us for the challenge and for the really incredible community right here.

p.p.s. Just so you know how awesome this community is… here is the post I made to them yesterday straight from my heart:

We talk lots of business too but we also love on each other because it’s sooo important to have that community support! See you in there?

How to run a challenge group…

Yesterday I announced to you that I’m offering PLR / Resell Rights on my proven, targeted monthly challenges and the feedback has been fantastic!

You see you can now buy my previously created challenge content and sell it as your own.

Laptop Lifestyle Business Club members get my PLR / Resell Rights on challenges completely FREE! My members are thrilled! Here is what they are saying so far:

if you prefer to save money and get MORE than just PLR you can now participate in the challenges live in the membership, get the awesome community in the club AND get a monthly PLR packet to download each and every month of your membership!

Cool beans or what?

Look I’m just a girl running an online business trying to help others do the same. But this… I know it could be pretty damn awesome and I can’t wait to see what members do with this content!

So I want to HELP YOU use this content and the PLR rights you get to it if you decide to grab it.

How to Run a Group Challenge:

Step 1: Pick a Topic

Of course you’ll need a topic and this can be a tricky part. It’s important to remember that not everyone is going to want your challenge at the very instance you offer it so you’re going to have to try to be broad enough to catch enough people who will want to participate but specific enough to get people EXCITED about what they need.

I pick topics in a variety of ways:
– Past Success: If there’s a topic I’ve had success with in my own business or life and I can share great insights to, I’ll consider it as a topic.
– Request: Sometimes there’s a topic I’ll requests for over and over again. That’s a sure tell that it could make for a good challenge topic.
– Community Interest: If you’re listening to the people in any community there’s usually something that comes up often. Lately I hear people looking for content around graphics and Canva, so that’s something I’d consider doing a challenge around (and WILL be doing just that in August).

Step 2: Pick a Format

So you’re going to need to decide HOW to deliver your challenge.

Simplicity is always important. Don’t overwhelm people with TOO many ways to consume your products.

In my monthly challenges, here’s my format:

  • Monthly challenge prep-sheet (as appropriate)
  • Monthly challenge action-plan (includes ALL challenge tasks)
  • Daily emails & facebook posts with challenge action tasks
  • Daily video “prompts” – talking head videos to cheer challengers on.
  • Monthly motivational webinar to get people geared up for the challenge!

As I said simplicity is best. You need to make it EASY for people to consume your content. I know not everyone likes being on facebook so I do give the email option BUT my challenges are mailing centered around my facebook group and my monthly membership, the Laptop Lifestyle Business Club.

Step 3: Sell or Give Away Your Challenge

Of course you need to get people IN your challenge doors!

The best way to sell anything is to be a “product of the product” as they say. Is this something YOU believe in? Is it something you can get excited about? Is it something you know will help them?

Then tell people that! Get excited. Be enthusiastic. Your excitement is the ENERGY around your challenge launch and you need to make it good and high!

Some challenges are free, some are paid. How you decide to work that out depends on your end goal with the challenge.

Step 4: Run Your Challenge

If you get steps 1-3 completed successfully you’ll then need to run that challenge.

Participate yourself if you can, it helps keep people motivated.

I’ve also found that giving people an incentive really helps. I used to do a random prize draw for my challenges but I find that people are even MORE motivated when they are sure they are going to get a prize. It’s silly almost because the prize is just a $5 Starbucks Gift Card but people will do the tasks just to get that, even when the reward of doing the actual tasks is probably much more valuable to them. It’s how we, as humans, are wired! We want to WIN things and a guaranteed win is pretty awesome.

Am I worried I’ll have to give out too many $5 gift cards? Not at all. I have about 90 people in my membership and if I had to pay a $5 gift card for each one of them I’d be happy to do it because I’d know they are consuming my products and so likely to get results it almost guarantees I’ll have very long-term members!

The Good NEWS:

If you’re looking at these steps and wishing you could skip a few… good news is you can!

Challenge PLR: Now you can sell my products as your own!

Hi there! How did your week go? Yesterday we went to “Coal Dust Days” here in Nova Scotia. It was fun! Here we’re at Plumber Avenue Day after Ella won a crown and wand at one of the game.

Yep I’m still on vacation but I’m still working too.

I’m pulling a “Connie Ragen Green” and working just a few, little hours in the morning (in my case while everyone’s sleeping) so that I can then go about living life and having fun!

Could I have planned ahead and had nothing to do this week for work? Sure! And I still COULD just take the time off but my coach and I were talking last week about something I just HAD to get done because I’m freaking excited to offer it to you and it does have an expiry date.

Also… you’ll be hearing from me anyway, vacation or no vacation because it’s just part of my LIFE, my laptop lifestyle, to share what I’m doing!

SO… what am I up to?!

Something REALLY cool and something I think you’ll LOVE…

Private Label / Resell Rights to MY Club Challenges!

Yep… you can now take my targeted monthly challenge bundles and sell them, too, starting with a great email list-building challenge that my people totally LOVED and engaged with.

Last month I did the “Create Your Perfect Opt-In Offer” challenge.

Now that the challenge is done I’m offering you the chance to buy it and us it in your business. That’s right, you can sell MY previously sold and proven product as your own!

The highlights:

– This is a targeted product. Very specific to a single task and so people are going to want to take immediate, purposeful ACTION.

– This is a proven product. Not random. Not uncertain. I’ve proven people want this product because I’ve sold it myself! I’ve had my people taking action and getting results!

Come look!

p.s. Did you sign up for my “Because Life Can’t Wait” recordings? You’ll get an immediate download of all the recordings you can take with you anywhere (great listening in your car).

I HATE to pick favorites because I love, love, love all the speakers but I have to say one of my FAVORITE parts was Connie Ragen Green’s talk where she blew my mind with her 3 hour per day schedule so she can go LIVE HER LIFE the rest of the day, every day.

I LOVED that! Grab the recordings here >> Because Life Can’t Wait Recordings
